I know this thread should/could belong somewhere else, but a poster's thread about anti-fast food made me wonder what you consider an average/fair dinner cost is between the two of you, excluding fast food restaurants and expensive places. Include tax and tip please.

Average is probably about $30 - $40 or so if we are excluding the more expensive places.
I live in an expensive area--so $30-$40 per person sounds about average for a medium range sit-down restaurant. Then I also have to kick in about $50 for a sitter too (I am divorced and have a young child who needs a sitter). I have to include that with the date since it's a real expense for me. So usually a dinner date costs me about $80 or so.

Doesn't really matter since the other thread said you will only pay half.
Around $20 since we almost always use two for one coupons like from the Entertainment Book. (The best part is walking out of the restaurant hold my Entertainment Book for all the guys paying full price to see.)

Wow, I can't believe how many of you manage to get by so easily. A decent meal with maybe one glass of wine each is going to be $60. A really nice restaurant is $85-over $100 for two. For $30 you can maybe feed two at a diner.
Last couple dates have average around 150$ (exceptional wine, tax/big tip) thats not including myself, because I don't eat in resturants.
