Would you casually date a woman with moderate mental illness? I mean, if she met other personality and attractiveness requirements and didn't seem potentially dangerous but early on something was "off" about her. Poll included because I'm cynical.

Hell no. That's one of my few dealbreakers. If she tells me she has BPD, I'm running away as fast as I can. Let her be someone else's problem because she won't be mine.

It depends.

Is fear of spiders a mental illness? Claustrophobia?

You have to be more descriptive about the type of illness you are referring to. Some are far more serious than others.

NEWSFLASH

every person in the world has a "moderate mental illness".

It's part of being human. We aren't robots.

I voted "Maybe" because I'm really not sure. Never dated one that had one. If we're talking something like bipolar, then heck no!

What kind of mental illness are we talking about here? Schizophrenia or BPD would likely be dealbreakers. OCD might not be a problem if it's a counting or cleaning fixation; a religious one might be a problem.

Some flavors of crazy I'll put up with. Others I can do without.

Not BDP, but others, sure. Almost everyone has something.
