My wife has a PhD and I didn't finish college. It's no big deal, really. I heard her telling our kids the other day that there are 24 letters in the alphabet, lol.

Hm, not to be mean or anything, but OP, do you live in a non-English speaking country or is your first language not English? Because based on your writing, I wouldn't have guessed that you're highly educated or come from a very intellectual background...

I am college educated & may technically have a "professional job" but I don't consider myself "career-oriented" nor is my job impressive or high paying. I have no issue with dating someone blue-collar or not college educated. Intelligence is important though, and I prefer someone with more intellectual interests, but that doesn't necessarily correlate.

It doesn't matter if you have a degree or are educated or whatever. You can still be just as stupid as someone with just a high school diploma.

I think it's funny how society tends to think that just because you went to college it makes you a smarter and better person than someone who didn't go. What if they chose military service instead of college? Would you think you were still better?

People are people. When it comes to relationships it doesn't matter who went to college and has a "professional" job or who works at the super market. It breaks down to who you are as a person, not what you do to make money. In the end, money doesn't matter.

That reminds me of my uncle and aunt. My uncle is my moms brother and a handyman. His wife is a high level executive and looks like a model. Although he has a blue collar career, he is the most masterful manipulator I've ever met and always gets his way. I'm good at it too but not a match for him. He lives in a well over million dollar house he got for a song and is just a master of finagling. When people in my family have problems, we go to him for favors and he makes sure to take it out of us later. Maybe he didn't have a huge career because he's an immigrant but he outsmarts everyone. He also looks like a 60 yr old Julio Iglesias, even 20 yr old girls fawn over him.

Generally speaking the answer is usually NO.

You are always a second class BF/SO/Hubby.

It doesn't make any difference what you do or how hard you work.

I've never worked so hard in all my life with little to show for it or any recognition.

You'll die with a knee full of water and bad hips and a back.

They'll still put you down and laugh at you....because you can't spell "x" or know what "x" means.

It's alright...life goes on.
