I just started attempting to online date after a couple year break from it. Since it's been a while, I was wondering how long is a reasonable amount of time to wait to reply back or get a reply back? I suppose this is considering people have jobs, friends, and need to take some time to read your message and profile. I was thinking within a couple days or 3 or 4 max. Consider normal circumstances, what do you think?

The best advice I can give you regarding online dating is this: don't do online dating.

This doesn't answer your question at all, but what made you take a break from it and why do you want to go back now? What's different?

reply when you can or want to. you are over thinking it. that is the least of your worries doing those online dating sites, especially for guy cuz you're just a menu option.

I'd say "next day".

Once had a correspondent on OKC wait nearly a month (after we'd exchanged msgs. back & forth for a bit) to reply.
I was underwhelmed at that, obviously-and we never did meet up in person, so....his loss.

I wouldn't set expectations you can't keep up with.

I often did not get back on the site for a week. So plenty of guys did not get replies until a week later. Anyone that thought that was too long, well, who cares. I never had anyone complain. Now emails are a different story....once email addresses are exchanged, then a day or two is normal I think.

"waiting" is not literal, like I have a timer on. waiting means time doing other things instead, like errands, thinking about what they said or what to say back. I was just wondering what is the max time not to look like i'm not sure if I want to talk to them
