In a relationship sense, I have seen cases where once the couple gets married, the woman becomes a bit more authoritative and that man can no longer drink as much or hang with his buddies as much, or female friends at all.
But none of that matters at all, because once they have kids, the man will neither have the time nor desire to do that stuff anyway.

I was talking more in terms of the wife becoming controlling and the husband not having any choices due to divorce being so financially devastating to the man. The woman knows that one the marriage is vested it's a huge payday for her if the man leaves...so they hold all the cards in the relationship. The man has to sit and dance to the wife's tune otherwise he is reminded of the threat of divorce and total financial devastation. I think that is what men mean...

None of this is true, unless you marry a controlling woman.
My dad has married twice and each time he's had female friends and drinks whenever he wants. No woman will stop him from talking to the people he wants to befriend or stop him from enjoying some alcohol on the weekends.

Actually, after the marriage ceremony, it's tradition to tie a string around the groom's testicles. The other end is held by the wife. So, yes, after marriage, women have their men by their balls.
