My Mom still calls me every once in a while and burps really loud then says 'Did you hear that?!' like in the movie Elf, then hangs up. We've always thought it was funny to fart on each other as well....but maybe my family is just odd. We don't do it in public (well, except for my brother who still thinks crop dusting in public is funny) but it's never been a big issue.

Around an SO? Nah, I try to keep that stuff under wraps, though I don't go out of my way to do so. If I fart, I fart. Get over it.

I'm of the opinion that one can easily demonstrate how comfortable and at home one is with a person without subjecting them to expulsions of foul-smelling gas or the wafting bouquet of feces. Manners, folks. Is it really such an imposition to relieve one's self in private?

If you're in some sort of gastric distress, hey, it happens, I get it. But for letting stuff rip just as the default? Um, yeah, classy.

I have never gone to the bathroom in front of anyone one or two ever. Of course one of my cats bangs the door down to get in. My SO has no issue with farting in front of me. He told me he had to poop one time when he was at my apartment early on in the relationship and it was killing him until he finally just had to go.

Oh yea, I used to run the water and all of that good stuff....I don't do that anymore. One morning he was getting ready for work and the lights were off. I was aware he was up and about and getting ready for work but I was still really asleep for the most part.

I rolled over and I farted. I said, "Yes, I know I just farted." He has ragged me for that ever since. I have started burping in front of him recently because I have a hernia that causes issues. I told him just to get over it, because I found out it makes me feel better...

He tells my kids about the fart like I do it all day every day. I have not done it since...

My family has no shame with any of this when in our home... Comfortable with farting, going the bathroom with doors open... People might think we're weird, but we are completely prim and proper in public.

We even have names for our farts - lart (laugh +fart), snart (sneeze fart), cart (cough+fart) and the troublesome "shart" that once happened to my son (he named that one even though we don't allow swearing - just farts).

We also have rules- not in public, around food, or where you could trap someone with the smell (e.g. In the car, under covers, in a closed room with no ventilation- like a sauna). I know - we are a bunch of weirdos! Seriously, what is wrong with us?

Not a lady, but I try to be really polite when around others when gassy. Letting burps go easily and as quietly as possible, etc.

Though there was this one time I had a lady over... woke up at 7am or so with horrible gas. Painfully excruciating to hold in. Starting falling back asleep when it "let go". I panicked a little for a bit and then fell asleep again. I'm very thankful she is both a heavy sleeper and that she didn't wake up.

You get a dog and always blame him for passing gas.

Everybody burps. Everybody needs to deal with it. Except me, I don't know how to burp.
