I would love both. Doggies are cute though.

There's the inkling of something below the surface here. I dated a guy and we were watching television or something on the bed and the dog was next to him so I told him to get down and the guy said, "no she's fine." He used my animals as a reason to not be intimate (not sex intimate) but that one on one type you developed over time.

It reminded me of the scene from Jerry McGuire when they were in the bedroom and she wanted to talk and the kid came in and jumped in the bed and she started to say no and he said yes. It's intimacy avoidance.

Now, given that, touch or yell at my dogs I'll pull out a big ol can of whoop=ass out on you.

I don't understand all this talk of loving something or someone "more" or "less".

What does it look like to you that someone loves their pet "more" than their spouse?

A person with insecuries or a person that has trouble opening up to a man or woman.

some people make it easy and come right out and say it, or things like "i just love dogs more than people" or whatever

That's easy. It's attention.

My FIL's mother was like that. Obsessed with her dogs. Meanwhile, her great-grandchildren would come to visit and she could hardly be bothered with them.

Sure. However, it is not entirely surprising (at least in some cases), since in the TV show King of the Hill, Hank Hill love his dog Ladybird (that's his dog's name) more than he loves his own son Bobby Hill.

I'd be pretty upset that my S/O admitted that she loved the pet more than I. To me, that's a sign to leave.

I had one ex that went to my pet and said she was going to miss him and kissed him.
However, she failed to say she would miss me.

Was kind of bogus.

Seems like someone whom I wouldn't be too upset about leaving, even if she initiated the break up.

At first I might feel bad, then she'd do that, and then I'd laugh and tell her to get out.
