I feel like if someone has to resort to using online dating then their dignity is greatly diminished. It means that a person has a fundamental flaw that inhibits them from properly communicating with the opposite sex in the real world.

Hmmm, I don't get that impression. I do think it's more difficult to connect with someone online than in person.

Anyone who uses a service and goes out with someone they know nothing about beyond that, in my opinion. is not very smart and could end up dead or molested.

losing all your money and being treated bad makes u feel sleazy. i have had some real dogs expect queen for a day treatment with nothing in return, i think they are applying the marketing technique to dating, its definitely not quip pro quo.
affiirmations have their place but a 2 trying for a 10 hookup is unethical, imho.

Yeah, and I could become a U.S. Senator.
There is NOTHING dangerous about meeting someone for coffee or a drink in a public place.

Seems to be a lot of that going on lately just by going to the grocery store or mall. My daughter quit working at Carowinds (theme park) years ago because a man tried to run her off the road on the way home. She out ran him but came home shaking from the experience. Since that time I have noticed several people being found dead that had been traveling on that highway.

Since my GF and I met online... We don't feel so.
She wanted to expand her options, I was working 70-90 hours/ week.

Disagree.
Same sort of dismissive comments have been made about classified newspaper ads, video dating (remember the 1980s ?), and so on.
Nowadays, the place to go where there is a critical mass of people, esp. like-minded (also seeking a partner) ones, is the internet.
No shame inherent in being sensible & practical about it, IMHO. Why be "too proud" to use technological advances for social purposes ?
People use online dating because their offline routines don't bring them into contact with available candidates.
What are the chances that two compatible people are going to be in the same place at the same time, offline-
and be able to recognize and identify each other as such ?
It's merely a method to try to improve one's odds of finding a satisfying connection with another person.
