I'm truly amazed how many early 20-something guys on here are obsessed with child support and have oh-so-much knowledge about the inner workings of other people's divorces and parental responsibilities.
Hmm, we have seen what has happening to men in the past 40 years. I was always told to learn from the elder.
Not all vasectomies are reliable, either. Imagine your surprise when you find out yours failed, after going around thinking you have no worries and are free to party!

You have to control it regularly after getting a vasectomy. But a vasectomy considerably lowers the risk of pregnancy, much more than condoms.
I knew from a young age (early teens) that I never wanted children. I am 34 now and have no children and still have zero desire to have children. I am finally going to get a vasectomy.
You are young yet and it is possibly that you will change your mind in a few years when you are financially secure and have found a woman who you really love and want to settle down with. Though it is also possible that you detest the thought of being a father so much that you know for certain that fatherhood is not for you.
It is your life and you know best what course of action you need to take, so don't let others talk you out of it. Unlike what some other posters have said, you can and will be able to find a good doctor who will perform the surgery. They will just press you hard to reconsider.
First, I know of no one who has used condoms properly 100% of the time. People do stupid things during the heat of the moment, especially if they have had a few drinks. Second, proper condom use does not entirely eliminate the risk of pregnancy.
A vasectomy is much more effective at reducing the risk of pregnancy to near 0%. If he is strongly opposed to children a vasectomy is the proper course of action.
I'm glad you can't change your mind after having one. Changing your mind when it comes to this would be a recipe for disaster. Your life ends the minute you have children.
Coming from a child himself, how ironic.
But yes, you should definitely get one ASAP.

No kidding. I'm thinking "attention *****" fits the bill. My husband had a vasectomy, however he didn't advertise it to everyone he knew. Some folks need to shout "look at me...I'm different".
Really, who gives a ****?
