But please, don't let silly facts stand in the way of your scared opinions.
Lmao! Please read beyond the headline. Direct quote from your article:
"But their project stumbled at the first hurdle when they failed to find a single man who had not been seen it."
So, ignoring that they can't even type not near right enough correctly (purposeful mockery) and the content of the article doesn't match the headline, the article is about one study in which researchers couldn't find any men who hadn't "consumed" pornography in their lifetime (and they were mum's the word as to how many places they looked). But of course, that's not what the OP was disputing, and it's not what I asked you for proof of. Having seen it before and being someone who watches it in the present time are not the same thing.
So... Can you prove to me that all men watch pornography? I, being a man who doesn't, already know you can't, but it will be fun to watch you try some more so this is your invitation.

"Facts" indeed
I read the entire article. Months ago.
What you are doing now is demanding a standard of evidence that no study, however well-designed or executed, could possibly meet. Of course, if this study supported your point of view, you wouldn't care how well or poorly designed it was. You would just accept it, because it would affirm your biases.
This is not a fight you can possibly win. People have producing, and viewing, erotica of one form or another for centuries. Anti-porn efforts have been going on for decades, and have failed utterly. Porn is far more readily available today than it ever has been, and consumption of porn will only increase in the foreseeable future.
So, flail away, anti-porn crusaders! You have about as much chance of curtailing the viewing of porn as you do of stopping the sun from rising every day.

What I'm "demanding" now is the same thing I was "demanding" when you posted the article, which you are now refusing to admit does not meet the challenge. You called something a fact that wasn't. I pointed that out.

You are presuming this about me based on nothing. I don't believe studies because they confirm my beliefs; if anything, I base my beliefs on studies... I also don't insist that one thing proved means another, the way you appear to be doing.

Many things will happen more often in the future than they do today. This is hardly reason to be OK with it, nor reason to censor yourself when given the opportunity to give your opinion on the subject.
The point of the thread is, contrary to what is said and insisted by people who see pornography as OK, not all men watch pornography. People shouldn't lie to justify what it is they're doing/defending. The truth should be enough.
Pornography is a lot more complex than the idea of the basic videos most people think of. It can be written, painted, drawn, photographed, or spoken. Pornography is any media that has as its assumed intent, the creation of sexual arousal. The romance novels directed at a heterosexual female audience are often pornographic, as are many ancient sculptures.
Pornography is largely the expression of human sexual fantasy. While we all have different specific fantasies, and it could be argued that some are more mainstream than others, we are by our nature sexual organisms. Not everyone (or every male) consumes pornography. Some people avoid it for religious reasons, others for sociopolitical reasons. Others may simply have no interest in external explorations of their sexual psyches.
Consuming pornography is neither normal nor abnormal in a personal context. The degree to which it is subjected to that discussion is entirely based upon social and cultural influences. If an individual's use of pornography interferes with their ability to interact with others, or it causes an economic strain on their life; then it may have become their addictive object of choice. If it is simply a part of the life they lead, it is nothing more than a means of assessing and fantasizing about their sexual interests.
ok...i know this will elicit people to post rude and mean comments. but i am just so tired.
and i am serious. i am so disheartened by all the men and women who comment everywhere that all men watch porn. "get over it, all men view porn".
in our life time yes porn has become much more mainstream. but the truth is porn as we know it is new. porn in magazines and videos and porn online is new.
we can now say that a lot of guys watch porn. because more and more they are being told that "all guys watch porn". every time you see something from a woman asking about this issue. every time...you will see the response multiple times that "all guys watch porn". so it's no wonder that more and more our boys are growing up to believe that is completely normal for them to forget about their girlfriends feelings...all guys do this, it is the girls problem if they don't like it.
but the thing all these guys who continually profess this "fact" that all men watch porn don't realize or don't want to realize is that this is all relatively new. porn magazines are not that old in the grand scheme of life on this planet. and then came porn videos. then of course we came into the internet porn age. which makes it so easy for anyone at any time. THIS IS NOT NORMAL THIS IS EASY. porn is easy now. and the more men (and women) who keep professing how normal porn is for guys to watch....the more normal our boys will continue to grow up believing this is the way guys are.
stop saying all guys watch porn. stop saying this! you all keep saying this like it is a male right.
this is not true. men do not HAVE TO watch porn. they are brainwashing girls and brainwashing themselves and the boys that are growing up in the next generation to believe that men NEED porn. omg men do not NEED porn. they want it and are being raised by others to believe that it is completely normal.
what did all the men do before the magazine and internet porn that is so readily available now? this is a recent issue that women are being forced to accept, and by the way if you don't agree you are a prude!, all men watch porn get over it.
i disagree and i am getting so tired of this. stop telling all of us that "all guys have to watch porn" as if that "should" be the norm. porn as we know it is new. all men have not had to watch porn in all humanity. what had men done in 200, 300, 500 years ago?
The internet itself used to not be normal. But now it is due to easy access. Same with porn. It used to harder to come by, and therefor wasnt so ubiquitous. Now however, it's right at anyone's fingertips. So it is now normal. Because it wasnt previously doesn't mean it isn't now.
In addition, your post implies that porn is bad. Unless it's an addiction, there's no problem with viewing it. You may not like porn. So don't watch it. Problem solved.
what did all the men do before the magazine and internet porn that is so readily available now?
They used their imagination. Fantasized about their teacher, girl in the next village etc....Men, now and 1000 years ago, fantasized about women. Get over it.
The distinction between "normal" and abnormal is largely irrelevant. Anti-gay arguments always appeal to the fact that homosexuality is not "normal" due to homosexuals making up such a minority of the population, yet those of us thinking rationally respond with a swift "So what?" I think that if the question of what's normal cannot condemn a particular behavior or lifestyle, it cannot vindicate one either.

There's actually much debate over that, much of it between researchers, scientists, and psychologists. But I get that it is your opinion pornography is absolutely harmless.

If that is the extent of the OP's issue with pornography (that he personally doesn't want to watch it), sure. But I doubt that it is. It's not mine, I know that.
And of course, it is no solution to the bigger issue. If those insisting that pornography is inherently harmful are correct, society as a whole pays the price for it. We wouldn't suggest people just look the other way on matters we all agree are harmful to others (if only indirectly), would we?
I would like to see honest, on-point debate on this matter on this board, but it may never happen. Attitudes one way or the other are too strong. Opinions are never questioned uniformly.
I don't watch porn so no...all men do not watch porn. Never was into watching other people have sex. Also was never into reading porn mags like hustler, playboy etc. Have always had something better to do. Like have sex or watch paint dry or grass grow. Life is too short to waste it on that porn crap.
Yeah, I have no idea how straight guys can watch another guy have sex, especially get off to it. And if they watch it with audio...
Also, I've never seen (in person) a Playboy or anything like that. I feel like I should look at one in my lifetime. Scratch it off the bucket list.
