Years ago, a man I was dating did something that was extraordinarily inconsiderate given our committed relationship. When he realized how much he had hurt me, he apologized sincerely and repeatedly until I forgave him. Far from being turned off, I knew that this was the kind of man with whom I wanted to spend the rest of my life. So I married him. It's been 25 wonderful years.

Lol, anyone who still believes in the alpha male/beta male bull needs to do a bit of research.

1. The original theory applied to wolves, not humans. I think we are far enough diverged from wolves to not be taking dating advice from them.

2. The creator of the theory, David Mech, one of the leading experts on wolf behavior, put forth that theory in the 70's, and now completely repudiates it.

Basically, wolves live in family units, not a random assemblage of members. There's the mother and father, and then there are the pups, who grow up, eventually leave and then start their own families. Which is pretty humorous because despite me knocking them for being different from humans in point one, their family units operate very similarly to the way human family units do. Once you're of age you don't go beat the **** out of your father so that you can bang your mother, now do you?

At least i hope you don't.

From what I've seen of people, there is no alpha or beta, humans are far more socially complex than that, and furthermore boiling it down to something so black and white doesn't even apply to the wolves in which it was originally intended to apply.

There must be some blogs that are cranking out that alpha/beta stuff, because we see a lot of it here.

I think it's youtube videos more than blogs...scams designed to separate desperate lonely young men from their money. Sad. I'm glad that technology didn't exist when I was 19 or 20, because I might have fallen for it, too.

But there's one problem. An alpha male would not have done that. Far from apologizing, he would have shown her the middle finger. And in so doing won her approval. That is strength, although the world may call it arrogance etc.

That's the difference between alpha and beta. Alpha takes without asking, beta waits for permission.
I really wish I could downvote posts.
