What the heck is "being single"
I sometime feel I'm never single. There is always someone I'm dating and even if we are not "official" I tailor my thoughts and actions to respect the new interest.

I guess the only times I am single are after a break up (I didn't initiate)... and there is nothing enjoyable about those days/weeks.

You never not date? As in, you're a serial monogamist? From one relationship right into the next?

"Dating" but not being tied into a relationship I would think would be closer to single than not for the purpose of this thread.

If your just dating someone, you really are not under obligation to run decisions by them, or place their needs "first." You still operate as a single for most parts of your life. If you want to go on a trip, you go. If you want alone time, you take it, etc. It is the beginning transition to being in a relationship... only if you are dating for that purpose and seek the transition. Some people date, just to date, with no long term expectations.

I'm not a serial monogamist I do take my "healing" period after a break up but I don't see how people can NOT date... healing period aside. I mean there are always guys, from first impressions, that peak my interest and if they want to go out then... why wouldn't I.

Maybe a serial dater...

And it is not that I can't be alone... I just don't see why anyone would make a stance TO be alone. If no one interest me and I'm single then I am just fine but I wouldn't say no because I'm on a single 4 life type path haha that's weird.

It's just hard for me to imagine not wanting to be alone for a few months or a year or so and focus on personal pursuits.

My favorite thing about being single is that I can eat a whole bag of brussel sprouts (my favorite veggie) without being judged during my feast or a few hours after my feast (if you know what I mean )

Okay, in all seriousness, it's the freedom. Of course, eating 16 oz of brussel sprouts as dinner is part of that freedom

Do you clean those up when you have someone over?
