I often hear men prefer to make more money then the women they are dating. But I also hear men complain that they have to pay for a woman or support her. I am very confused by these conflicting desires. Men want to be wealthier than women but resent having to pay for them??

What do you guys want?

I make a pretty high income already. I would not get into a relationship with a woman who was making a higher income or had a higher net worth than me. If it's a one-night-stand, then that's fine of course.

But I think actual dating would feel awkward for both of us. I would constantly be wondering why she isn't with someone more affluent than her.

Why would she want to do that, if you're a great guy, and your personalities and interests click? It''s so hard to find a good match, why throw a good thing away just over a little difference in paycheck?

pshh, I don't care if she makes more than me, the more the merrier. Thats some illogical ego crap right there, going out with a rich/generally well off girl is amazing. I'm not a free loader or anything, best is for both parties to have money. Broke girls who try and get you to spend all kinds of money on them will find themselves almost immediately getting the boot from guys who have a backbone. So they go find a poor ****** to leech off of while they go bang the right kind of guy on the side.

(shrug)

I have never made as much as $20K in a single year, so I would be happy to have an income within shouting distance of average.

Both men and woman have double standards for the opposite gender and they are always infuriating.

I like it better though when people are being authentic and say how they really feel and what they really want. I like it a lot better than them being bullied or manipulated into something else and they forget who and what they are.
