I am just curious. There are a few who did and at first, I overlooked it, but now thinking about it, it's weird. This does not have to be a date. We would go out for drink, happy hour after work, study, etc and I would receive these texts saying how happy they are to see me. Am I thinking too much?

I'm a little confused on what the deal is here to be honest. I rarely text women after dates/hangouts/drinks etc first, I let them do it given that I usually am the one that usually plans and often pays the event (if its a date) and they are in a position to be thanking me. Not that expect that but it just happens that way and I don't know why I would change that.
In cases where its been a just friends thing and it just kind of happened I'm not going to try to text her but I'm happy to hear from her and talk. If she sets it up I'll usually compliment her on it, but I'll usually just do that in person.
With guys its whatever and is dependent on the relationship I have with each person.
