My advice would be to clean up your grammatical errors - especially if you are looking for someone intelligent.

What's so "wow" inducing about that profile. I read it... if anything it came off a bit generic... I'm not personally in the dating market and haven't done OLD so I can't compare it to anything, but like I said, my gut was that is was a bit bland.

Saying Wow sounds really snarky so I'm curious as to what you meant by "wow".....

It's fine. I'm significantly older than you so it's difficult for me to evaluate. I would consider Dewdroplet's advice and clean up the grammatical errors. You have a nice smile - can you get a friend to take a photo of you that isn't a selfie?

My only other advice - "You should message me if…" Be a little more selective than "If you live in Illinois". Aim a little higher.

In truth, I just didn't know where to start with critiquing the profile and should've left it at that.

Wow =

One of the things I was thinking about was that your interest comes off as a bit nerdy and that is cool, that's a whole new subset of things that are "cool" these days..... if your interest are truly on the nerdy side why don't you work that angle a bit more.

Truth is is that you don't really see a lot of black chicks that are into LOTR and things of that nature. Maybe work that angle and see what comes of it... IDK... just a thought.
