How do you go about rejecting someone in a nice polite manner?

If you have never rejected anyone, how would you like to be rejected?

I must say I'm not terribly good at that. I tend to do the ghosting thing. If someone does the same to me, I pretty much get the hint.

Say "thanks but no thanks" and NOTHING else.

I just tell her I'm not interested. If she gets upset, she needs to grow up and get over herself.

Dating is a rejection game...you win some, lose some...what goes around comes around anyway.

"No thank you, I am not interested" is all you need to say.

I just say "you seem like a great person, but I don't really feel chemistry between us."

For me, declining a date in the first place wasn't hard...I just told them I didn't have a lot of free time and wasn't really interested in dating at that time, which was true. Later, when I got into a different career and had more free time, it was more common that I'd go out with somebody and then determine that I didn't want to go out again, and that rejection is obviously more personal, So it's touchier. Thankfully, most of the time, if I wasn't feeling it, it was mutual.

If it's a brand new contact, "I'm sorry, we're not a good match". Further on, "I'm sorry, this isn't going in a direction i feel comfortable with." For someone who can't take no for answer, "I don't like you; i don't want to go out with you again; i want you to go away."
