When I was in my mid-30s, I packed on 40-50 pounds of extra weight. I became invisible to straight men; my only male friends were gay, who seemed to be able to see me as the person inside instead of just as a frumpy fat woman.

How do you know that's what they were thinking? Maybe they just didn't want to be bothered by almost anyone. Or maybe a good portion of them were in relationships. Either way, I highly doubt every woman you've ever talked to has thought "how dare this unattractive guy enter my airspace." Not all women are going to think like that.

Because it happens every time..any women whos single evne if its an acquantance i kind of know will look for a way out of a convo with me after a minute or so its like they want to make sure theyre not giving me any signs i might take as interest
Married women who i know are the only women who will engage in any convo with me because they know theyres no chance i might be hitting on them
