I did end up blocking him and unfriending. I hated to because we had been on friendly terms but he has started to get nasty about things I posted on Facebook. I mentioned my boyfriend and he got mad because I mention he doesn't have kids. He said I was picking on him because he does.

I think people who complain like this really love Facebook drama. You want him to have access as an ego boost.
Yep.
This has the simplest solution: stop responding to him. Every time he approached you, you'd respond for no reason at all. If you don't like a guy and are content without him in your life, why even entertain his interest? Do you just like the attention?

If I were OP's bf, I'd be worried. She either doesn't know how to set boundaries with men, or as you said, likes the attention. Either way, bad news.
The OP is still in love with this man after all these years. It was and is true love. But she probably feels betrayed that he got married so many times and had kids by other women. This just proves you can't help who you fall for. What an idiot this guy is, he could have had the truly unconditional love of this woman and he threw it all away.
They will have on again off again contact for the rest of their lives. Its has nothing to do with an ego boost or loving drama, she just cant seem to get over this guy, and he can't seem to completely walk away from her. Or he knows she will always be there in between his relationships. I feel bad because she will always think of him no matter who she is with.
