Hey, if I'm so wrong in my first post on page one - why am I getting so many reps on it?
You can take the information I gave you and consider it relative to your question. You asked why these stereotypes exist and I gave you several answers.
Opinions vary greatly on what people find attractive. No, there are probably a lot of women who wouldn't go for a Tommy Lee Jones or a Peter Jennings. It's been my preference since I was young. There are also many women who would agree.
It's not an exception to the rule. It's a difference of opinion. Nothing more nothing less.

Take it or leave it. Makes no difference to me.
Tommy Lee Jones and Peter Jennings were both pretty handsome in their prime. All you're saying is that you like much much older men. I don't see what that really means in this case
but what you said is still nonsense. They've done studies on what women found attractive and they've gathered I don't know 50 or 60 women and had them build their "perfect" male and most of the results came out to be very very similar
I don't have to tell you the same thing is true for men too. There's a reason the porn industry primarily features very feminine looking women with athletic and shapely figures (now whether they are tall or short, young or old, asian or black, none of those matter because the primary characteristics are still there)

Save it kid. We actually did it in the chat thread one night. We womenfolk took it over and posted pictures of men and commented on them. Some agreed and disagreed with every picture. From, "He's doable" to "blech" on the same exact picture. There was no consensus.
Women in porn typically look rode hard and put away wet.

The problem is that you keep thinking that because some people like dark hair and others like blonde hair that it means attractiveness is entirely subjective
It's not. It's subjective to a small degree. There are a general set of characteristics that are attractive to the overwhelming majority of the population (clear, healthy skin, expressive eyes, healthy looking hair, masculine facial features for men and feminine features for women, fit and in shape, the proper bone structure, etc...). Now you can have people who are old and young, tall or short, big or small, white or black, blonde or brunette,, etc... etc... who are all attractive because they share the same primary characteristics that are attractive to most people
Why do you think nearly every girl around the age of 16-20 goes crazy for the douchebags in Twilight series?

The OP isn't about what is attractive and what isn't attractive though. What he's saying is that people often associate good looks with bad personalities.
I have noticed it too, and it is a poor generalization and good looks don't really have much bearing on a someone's personality.

Oh, he's clearly deviated from the topic in here and in his gay man thread which went from "Why do Gay men find me attractive and women don't" to "Women are very attracted to me, but I don't find them attractive." The boy needs ritilan.

True and I agree
Looks have nothing to do with personality. I know plenty of great people who look great and who look avg, and vice versa
