This is sort of strange. What's the point? If I want to protect my solitude, I go out for a solitary walk every now and then.
From the article.
"Couples often have different sleeping habits and preferences - like room temperature, watching TV in the bedroom or when to turn the lights off - and disagreements over these habits can cause problems".
If I ever cohabit again I would definitely consider having separate bedrooms/bathrooms. It doesn't mean you have to sleep apart all the time. But I do love having my own space. (I did not get this way until after having kids though! )
^^^ This! A very smart idea, especially if you and your SO have a different sleep habits (reading, TV, early to bed, late to bed, turning&tossing, snoring, getting up several times etc.) or just want your solitude/privacy.
Done that - had a separate bedroom, and would never want the master bedroom/one bed kind of life.
BTW: before 70's most people had separate beds and often bedrooms. That didn't affected their romance or procreation.
I like sleeping in a queen sized bed together, but I fear having a snoring partner.
When I got married, my husband did not snore. But after the first year or so, he started snoring terribly loud, and many nights I ended up on the sofa. I have been lucky that none of my boyfriends have snored, but I assure that if I somehow wound up dating a guy that did, we would not be sleeping in the same room! I need my sleep!
I wonder if she only has sex with him on his birthday.
