I don't see anything wrong with it, where the date takes place doesn't really matter, the woman I'm spending my time with does, I could care less if it was at a local chain or a local family owned bistro.
Sure coupons are smart, just don't pay with them on a date
If you do, your date immediately will be turned off and think you are cheap, and not worth a second date ...
it might not be my first attempt to invite her to dinner. later down the road perhaps is a good idea.
even better if she suggests it instead of me.
on the other extreme avoid dating women that only like 5 star restaurants a la carte dinner ordering and heavy bar bills.
it will only get worse as the relationship grows.
