^ I was thinking that also, Ruth. Financially, he "lost" the game. Morally, he lost also. 3 women were likely very hurt & betrayed. OP's mom may not have dated since because of it. I consider that a heavy price, but I guess it's all cool if you're not the one who is hurt & you get what you want .

He may have lost it morally at the time but it was so many years ago I suppose he has regained his morals. I never said what he did was right.
I'm sorry for my mother but I think it has passed more than enough time for her to get over it.
I don't know if this is relevant but he was considerably older than the 3 of them at the time. He was certainly much more experienced than them.
