I don't hate the younger guys, but they don't hold the same goals I want in a serious committed relationship at age 20.

On top of that, they think they can lure an older woman just because stereotypes of these arrangements assume her age automatically places her in the desperate/vulnerable position.

A guy at 40 is no better, but at least the age range is more along the same page.

I've dated younger men on a few occasions, but never more than 6 years younger.
With the 6 years younger man, age difference was not a factor in the relationship not taking off. It was more of a lack of chemistry , compatibility and emotional maturity/self-esteem issues on his part. He was also planning to head back to school, and was not yet financially stable from all indications. It just did not work.

I think up to 6-7 years age difference either way is an acceptable age difference. More than that, and you're missing cultural references from your partner's generation (certainly cannot date a guy who does not know what a cassette tape is or doesn't remember when MTV showed videos). In all seriousness, there is less likelihood to be on the same page about life goals.

A lot of younger guys say "yolo" and play beer pong. A lot of older guys have their lives together.

I'm 50 there are many reason I never go after a young thing, even if I was single...

1. I have adult children.
2. I raised kids.
3. Just not my thing....

Because men are program to breed... A younger woman fits that...

A decent older man is as rare as a dinosaur egg.

A decent younger man is easier to find, and easier to crack

I like them both. I would be tickled pink to find a younger man who was as mature about life and relationships as an older man, or an older man who was as vivacious and handsome as a younger man.

Most 30 year old men would have no problem having sex with anything on two legs, a few even four.

I think it's a maturity thing.
