But someone who has gone the elective sterilization route most likely does not want kids, of the biological, adopted, or foster persuasion, i.e. is not for me.

Explanon. Just paid $650 to have the old one removed and the new one inserted. Insurance covered $0.

I don't care. There is still adopting if he REALLY wants kids (I am okay with or without kids).

Speaking of birth control how well does the shot work and does it screw up hormones like the pill does?

It's the same type of hormone therapy, just a different delivery system.

Doesn't it last 6 months or something?

They need to come up with something that won't make your SO so damn crazy.

Supposedly a male birth control is on the verge of releasing.

At one point, Depo-Provera was slightly more likely to contribute to weight gain than oral contraceptives, but that may no longer be the case.

But really, all hormonal contraception, be it pills, implants, a shot, or hormone-treated IUD, can cause the same sorts of side effects. You're screwing with the balance of hormones in each case, and that's what causes the side effects.
