Ex boyfriend and I hang out about once a week. Things seem pretty good. Occasionally we have sex. He says things might work out, he just needs to see that my jealousy is not as bad as it was. He tells me he loves me, we cuddle, go to movies... Dinner....
How can I get out of this mess I created? I really would like to rebuild our relationship
Not true, you are seeing each other and if you really wanted to get out of this mess you created you would have never spent time with him after you broke up.
So, to get out of this mess you created tell him you do not want to see him again, block all contact and if/when he stops by do not let him in.
This man is no more your "Ex" than my dog is a cat.
How long have you guys been talking since you changed? How amenable does your gut think he is towards being in a relationship with you again?
Be careful not to just become a girl he uses for just sex and an emotional tampon. He might be using you as a crutch while he is trying to see what else is out there. Just a friendly warning...

He is going to play this card to his advantage.
