We're in our 40s, and still, whenever I have a GYN appointment, he asks questions about it, makes jokes about it, and even seems oddly turned on by it. It's like a annual freaking holiday for immature jokes.
I always get comments like:
Does it feel good?
How do you not get turned on?
Were her fingers cold?
Oooh, I'm jealous!
Does she take off her rings?
I can joke around as much as anyone, and I can appreciate silly humor, but come on, hasn't it gotten old by now? Yes, once a year we women go to a doctor or nurse who looks at our "parts" and yes, our feet go up in stirrups. Every single joke that could be made about is had been made, and every joke was "old" 25 years ago.
He could be an educated, upstanding professional, but you mention a GYN appointment, and suddenly he's Beavis & Butthead giggling like a 14 year old.
Women, do your guys act like this?
Do they grow out of it?
Guys, really, what's the fascination?

I've never had any such fascination. I feel bad for my SOs that they have to deal with such things (though I figure prostate exams are coming up...) and when that time comes I'm once again glad I'm a guy.

Why don't you invite him to accompany you so that he can see just how much fun it really is?

My husband never acted like that. My Ob-GYN was a male and my husband never made comments or asked silly questions like that. In fact, one time I was telling him how cold the speculum was but he had no idea what I was talking about so I was trying to explain it. Then I Googled a picture for him. That's when he shuddered and said, "I don't want to know."
