Giving her number to guys she just met while having a boyfriend? That's called cheating. Cheating doesn't have to be physical. And if she did it with you, you can bet the house she'd do it to you as well.

I would reply that I'm not interested in becoming friends, and for her to either drop the boyfriend or let me know when she does.

so women aren't allowed to make friends while they are in a relationship? is that what you are saying? because that is ridiculous. Besides, what likely the case is she isn't feeling it with her boyfriend and so is shopping around. Kind of like how you shop around for a different job while you still have your current one.

Might be looking for friends
Might be looking for some on the side
Might be poly and looking for a secondary or tertiary

Not enough info here.

Anyone else wonder why he told her he was an engineer?

I know that's not the moral of the story, but is that supposed to be impressive that *swoon* she'd leave her boyfriend for you because you're an engineer?

Find another woman. Why get wrapped up in this? If you get wrapped up it's easy to stay that way and then you have drama that you clearly could have avoided. 8billion people on Earth, Many single woman. If one gave you her number I am sure countless others who are unattached will do the same. Your an engineer, So you sound like you have a stable job and can get digits. Winning. Now go find a single gal.

She told you she has a boyfriend and that she feels there's no harm in making new friends, thus you wouldn't be dating her.

You want to date her, she's not available for that, so move on.
