Sorry, off topic, but how old are your parents?? I am a GenXer and I am 40. Are you the oldest Millennial ever?

IMHO, mama's boy = no back bone.

Those Freudian-like relationships are annoying at the very least, and destructive at its worst.

This is a huge deal breaker for me. No thanks!!

Gen X'ers start in the early 1960's. So the oldest one can be in their 50's. The ones in the 40 range are at the young end of X'ers. Raena77, you're probably at the last year or so of the X'ers. So yeah, if someone in their 50's can easily have a 25yo kid...and if they had one when they were in their teens, well, they could be Raena's age.

My brother was a daddy's boy, then...spoiled to the point of never growing up.

There are lots of daddy's boys, too.

Their dads make sure they are catered to, get away with all sorts of bs, don't make them face the consequences of their actions, overindulge them with all sorts if crap...

I think the terms "mama's boy" versus "daddy's girl" are sexist.

A girl that has her father wrapped around her finger doesn't carry the same stigma as a man attached to his mother. Basically, it's almost expected that a man will spoil his daughter; that she's not as capable of handling her own affairs.

I never judged anyone on being a "mamas boy". I know a few who their mom is the sweetest woman you will ever know. They are because she loves him, and he loves her. Better than the guy who hates his mom and hasn't spoken to her in a decade.

I like the "mom's" that even if her son's friend is hungry, will cook something up. If you rip your shirt or jeans, she'll sow it up for you while you wait.
