I can't say that there is an incredible number of women out there who are fascinated with married men but I am sure there are some out there who are. I think most of those fascinated women are most likely women who have had bad experiences with relationships and if they end up meeting a married man who seems to have and be everything that she is looking for then that is what creates such fascination, but then again it has been said time and time again that "The Grass Is Always Greener On The Other Side". Remember you should never judge a book by its cover.
I for one can tell you that it's not true. At least not in IT branch or in my case in general - marital status by itself doesn't give you any advantage at all (it can actually give you a drawback).
I've not been hit on by any women since being married. Maybe I'm too ugly to be bothered with. But it may also have something to do with the fact that I don't put vibes out there signaling that I am receptive to being approached. A lot of married men are looking for extra-curricular distractions. It's not surprising that some women pick up on this and exploit it for their own reasons. In any event, there is nothing new about this kind of behaviour, and it most certainly isn't limited to women. There are a lot of men who have no respect for the boundaries of other people's marriages or relationships. In fact, this kind of behaviour is so common, there are two commandments that deal with it. Do not commit adultury. Do not covet your neighbor's wife (spouse). Imagine that.
