Anyone else here work late nights and is up b/c you can't go to sleep?

My shift ended at 11pm but I didn't get out of the ED until 145am. Now I'm home, wired, and can't fall asleep. Night shifts can be painful

I've always wondered how shift workers deal... I've always worked the standard day shift. I was wondering how people do when they do the swing and graveyard.

Do you go to sleep fairly quickly after work or do you stay up for the same 6 hours or so that most day workers do.....

I find my natural bio rythyms are to be a night person........

On Wednesday's, I come in at 3am for 4 hours, then the rest of the week is 11pm - 7am. Then Saturday and Sunday are 11am-11pm.

When I go home on the 11pm-7am shifts, I generally stay up and watch TV till about 9am or so. Get up around 2 or 3pm. On the weekends, I stay up till about 3 or 4am, get up around 930am for work.

I'm a night owl though, so it doesn't really bother me. I mean, I'm sure its shortening my life, but it is what it is. lol
