POF has such a bad reputation, this is amazing! Why would a lawyer use a free site like that, I wonder? So there are good guys (and women) on POF?
Yup. There really are. He's one of the most successful local attorneys, too. And a very nice guy. He did Match as well...he was trying out the different sites to see what worked best. My current boyfriend is a great guy...really just as nice as they get. But he's also a pretty thrifty guy, and he didn't want to spend money on a paid site. Someone recommended POF to him, so he tried it. Remember, people don't come on forums to praise anything. They only come to complain. That's what you get here...in this forum. Bitching, moaning and groaning about how life is unfair and how online dating is full of aholes.
I met my gf on a site unrelated to dating... we started chatting and we just clicked.
I had pretty much given up trying to find anyone, and so had she... so it was a pretty great surprise.

I actually met a good guy on POF. He was a teacher who was never married/childless and looking to get married. He was decent looking too. Unfortunately we really didn't click but it was a positive experience meeting him. This was my experience, met a lot of great guys but no clicks. Not sure why.
I've met a lot of really cool chicks off POF and EHarmony. I've had a lot fun and met a lot people off it, nobody on POF seems to want a relationship though. It's more of hook-up site I feel like. It could be because I live in a tourist town, It's full of college chicks taking a season off after college, tourists, and people who move to the mountains for a year or two to take a break from life.
It's really hard finding stable people in this town.
I've had a total of two bad dates.
1. A woman that was 7 months pregnant! Maybe she's normally a decent person and her situation and state of mind made her go crazy. Who knows!
2. A woman brought her kid along on the date. No thanks!
I struggled through both dates and I was polite, I just avoided contacting them afterwords. I wasn't doing anything those nights anyway. People can be weird though! Lol
