EDM. The less lyrics the better. I prefer to mold my own experience and mood based on the melody
Well, I have to question why you scold rap for its references to drug dealing/use, when the EDM culture has been having a love affair with ecstasy, and all manner of drugs, nearly since it's very beginning.

Difference between drug use and drug dealing, which fuels much of the underground criminal activity. Also drugs aren't prevalent in lyrics as often as the Rap generalizations I listed.
People that are fans of the genre seem to be trapped in simple one track minds and it drives their daily lives. I personally write off any female that engages in the music. How could we possibly share the same mental or emotional wave lengths if she is involving in such elementary behavior. What are your experiences?
The answer is no. Rap is crap that denigrates black women.

What fuels the criminal activity?
The drug users, or the drug dealers?
Why is it okay to use drugs, but its not okay to sell drugs?
Why is it okay for EDM culture, but not Rap?
Because it isn't in the lyrics as often?
Why date someone who's hopped up on speed and E, reaching for the lasers in a hot sweaty mess while listening to EDM, but not one who's sitting around smoking a blunt, listening to Rap?
I'm not even a fan of modern rap. Most of it is garbage, to me. I just don't understand your problem.

A) Cartels, gangs i.e drug dealers
B) There is no financial benefit in drug using. Drug dealing is centerpiece of organized crime
C) EDM doesn't preach violence and materialism
D) Yes, furthermore the artists and their fans commit less crime
E) Percentage of drug users in EDM is far less than Rap I.E Europeans that only drink
Perhaps a better question is "would you date an individual who expresses singularly ignorant ideas about how you can narrowly pigeonhole hundreds of millions of fans of a particular musical genre?"
I'm gonna go with "no."
