I have been on various small, mostly private, online communities where we have gotten together over the years, as friends. One group of women, I've been posting with since about 2001, and loads of us have met, hung out, formed offline friendships. But a forum this size is just too big (and too public) to foster that kind of community, at least for me. It doesn't lend itself nearly so well to forming offline friendships, etc.
There were two posters awhile back (sierraAZ and sifuphil) I thought they would be pretty fun to have a few drinks with...but other then Chow and his better half Sea...no one else really interests me (yes and I know the feeling is mutual)...
If there are people here that wanted to meet me they'd learn quick that I'm pretty boring and I mostly keep to myself. Generally speaking, if no one actually talks to me I'd probably never speak.
But I'm used to silence since I've mostly been a silent person my entire life.

Funny you mention SierraAZ and Sifuphil - she placed me in bed with Sifuphil in a thread many moons ago when I posted more regularly here in the Relationships Forum. Mona Lisa Vito was also a regular back then. I rarely post lately for the same reason many are lamenting ever wanting to meet folks from here IRL.
Speaking of which - I remember a number of posters in the LA area got together a while back and even posted photos, including Twinkle Toes (who is a knock out!), Village Life and Huckleberry. Personally, I have only met with one poster IRL, and we still get together often, although they never come around this forum afaik. A real keeper, I say.
Rance and Sweden met on CD too, and didn't another CD poster officiate their wedding?
I don't foresee ever meeting anyone from here. To piggy back what Prince Frog wrote, they'd learn I'm also a pretty boring and quiet person who mostly keeps to himself.
