True, they had great personalities. But men ignored them because of their weight. It doesn't matter if you are the most amazing personality in the world if you can't even get in that first conversation.
Yep. I've seen it first hand. Life's great at 25-30 then at 45, they're miserable because their looks are fading fast and they have nothing else to offer.
They cant work on enhancing the personality when it isnt as urgently necessary (at 25-30) as things like makeup, clothes, and getting married. Why develop it when it isnt needed to get married? Its one of those things that women are as clueless about as men that never learn how to understand women.
Fat is not the worst a woman can be by any stretch. The worst a woman could be is a conniving, backstabbing, manipulative, cruel, jealous, greedy, lying, abusive scumbag... being fat doesn't add or subtract from that.

True, but those women who have decent bodies still have all the relationships they want, and even get married, when their men tolerate the behavior. Especially if they are good looking. So really, fat is worse than all of those traits.
I think given a choice between a fat chick and a not-fat chick, most normal men will go for the not-fat chick.
Similarly, if a man has a say in whether his girlfriend's hair is long and short, most men would prefer their girlfriends wear their hair long.
When I was single, I never considered fat chicks competition for any man. I only ever felt like I was in the running with skinny girls or normal-weight girls with extremely pretty faces. A fat chick was like... "Oh, she's in the friend zone. Nonthreatening."
