There are women where both fit the bill, and depending on who sends the message the reaction can be the same. Frustration and disappointment.

Humans are social by nature. Both can be frustrating but which is the lessor of the two "evils"?

I disagree, I eat that **** up. Unattractive women's tastes don't get worse simply because they're unattractive.

Do you assume there aren't women on dating sites that aren't sexually ignored? Sure there are. There are men here who talk about undesirable women on dating sites quite often.

Yes. I do doubt it. Just because they arent sexy doesnt mean men wont sleep with them. Ive bed a few swamp hogs after a taking midnight vodka dive. Yes we talk smack but yes we still sleep with them in a dry spell

This feeds their entitlement attitudes. BIG TIME. As in, crank it to 11, give it 10,000 watts of power, sit back and enjoy the ride. Or rather, hold on for dear life because your driver is drunk and hooked on crack and the man sitting next to you has a loaded 9mm and hasn't taken his meds for a few weeks.

It's not hard for a woman to have success with online dating. All she has to do is not be fat, don't have kids, and don't come across as a total entitled b*tch princess, and even a four or five can have a different chump buying her dinner every night of the week. Thirsty simps will be lined up clear across the county for a chance to spend time with 7 or 8.

Men, OTOH....well, once again, if you're not in the top 2% or a thug criminal.......except it's even worse with online. There are a lot of reasons for that. I'm not going to go into any more detail, or else Mod cut.
Ding! We have a winner. At least in my experience I wholeheartedly agree.

I lost count of my....well, count damn near a decade ago. I have solid 7+ looks with a 20 inch drop, prototypical Scorpio charm, the ability to make anyone laugh at any time, am intellectually superior to most, incredibly sensitive and passionate mixed with plenty of bad boy (criminal record, Infantry for 9 years), and typically more humble than this sentence would have you believe. Real life dating has been shooting fish in a barrel even with absurdly high standards. Models? Porn stars? An NFL cheerleader? Check. Check. Check. However.....

I dabbled in online dating out of curiosity about a year and a half ago when I noticed a few of my friends fully invested in it. NOTHING. Charm in full gear, wittiest messages ever thought up with full personalization (no shotgun), and a fantastic profile with everything women say they want, but I just took a single quick selfie that didn't look great and I was in between jobs so income was 0 (6 figures in the bank so I was just kind of enjoying life after I got out). I was so taken aback by the lack of success that I kept lowering my standards more and more - to the point of messaging women I wouldn't sleep with even if it would somehow end poverty and create world peace. Still nothing.

That sense of entitlement you speak of is very, very real. When the type of woman who would kill to have me IRL completely ignores me on OKC and POF there is clearly something amiss with online dating.

It's like I said before... I had no success with online dating either. But "IRL" I don't have such bad luck. You'd think I'd have better luck online simply because it's a concentrated source of single men, but nope.

I think there is a trick to it... or maybe certain personality types or something that do better with it (and other personality types that stink at it).

There is a thread about men's profiles being all the same and some men chimed in and said the same is true with women's. I had a unique and interesting profile--not like the boring cookie cutter ones. And I always sent thoughtful messages to men... I would comment about something in their profile or pictures. But I noticed the people who "were" successful and had the most luck with online dating said they didn't put much effort into their profiles. It made me wonder, that maybe, like the way fast food all tastes about the same and appeals to so many... fast food style profiles that are nearly the same have that same appeal.

I really don't know. I just know it seems to work great for some (men and woman) and not so great for others (like me... or you). I don't think men who won't message me are entitled... I think they just like generic (the same reason every shopping center every quarter mile seems to have a Starbucks, McD's, and Subway around here). It's just comfortable I think.

Although I'll be honest, if you mentioned a criminal record in your profile, I'd probably avoid you. No offense intended, but I am not into bad boys and wouldn't risk my career getting mixed up with one.

this is one of the reasons I won't try online dating anymore. I half blame the women, if all they want is sex, that's fine. But I don't like the mentality that men have that women are just throw aways or a rainy day special. It's almost sickening and I suspect most of the men on the dating sites think the same way you do.

I ran into guys who just wanted sex too... I ignored them and they were the only men I completely ignored and didn't at least message back once. While it's not the main reason I quit online dating, it's related to the inability to meet men who wanted to use a dating site to you know, actually date someone. I would ask why don't men just use the sex sites if that's all they really want, but my guess (and it's just a guess) is that there is an even more skewed ratio over on those sites.
