If you mean is there one person put on the planet for you and you alone and this person is the single and only person you will attain "true love" with - then I not only think it is a fairy tale with no evidence behind it - but I would not even find it beautiful and lovely - but horrific.

IF you mean however can you meet someone - or some set of people - and make them the sole pursuit of your love and life - then yes I absolutely do subscribe to the idea and do indeed find it lovely and beautiful.

People grow and change with the environment we live in. What seems to be "the one" today could be "the wrong" tomorrow.

I do believe, to some extent. It's the right amount of emotional intelligence, looks and comfort. Comfort is a big factor. You just feel it. It's the warmth of a friend whom you connect with cuddling up beside you. It's intangible. The feeling you get when something clicks inside.

It's elusive, wonderful and strange. The mind attraction trumps all else for me. Everything else got you there in the first place.

I believe it for some people. Some are lucky and they feel love toward someone who in turn feels it for them.

However, alot of people don't wanna work in relationships anymore. They want sex to come fast and easy, and stay hot and heavy forever, and when lots of drama comes in they wanna break-up and divorce at the drop of a hat. Sometimes people just walk away too soon. Because what many don't get is, loving someone takes work. A relationship takes work, and people don't want to do that anymore. That's why we have all these casual affairs. FWB, sex buddies, escorts, etc.

But, others aren't so lucky. They die and never experience love, or even dating. SO, apparently, there was no one for them. I hear the sayings

"There's someone out there for everyone"
"Be yourself, you'll find someone"

Both are naive, because it's not true. Some die alone, some die virgins, some grow old alone. Love just doesn't happen for everyone. Those phrases are just what people feed to the social/romance losers to give hope.

A loser is only a loser because he chooses to be one by his own choices and blindness.

People don't get relationships because they refuse to change. People stay poor because they make choices to be poor. There are certainly counterexamples, such as illness or rehabilitating injuries.. but for the majority of people it stands.

And some it doesn't. They change their style, or approach, and it still gets them nowhere, or not where they prefer. It happens. Some are just unlucky. lol Not to say all the time. But there are some numbers where people just can't catch a break.

BUT, in some cases, people tend to misunderstand and go for the wrong thing. Like the "Bad Boys." Unless you want casual sex, dating a bad boy isn't the way to go. Maybe an alpha male is what some girls want, but they expect to get the nice package in a bad boy--and rarely does that happen. It usually invites trouble of some kind.

Or cases of high standards, That's the one where change will be needed. If you think you're 1 2, but want the 5 partner, you will need to do some changing. But for some the changing process is slow and hard, and the current results are not good.

Luck is just a word for losers. The call other people's fortune luck, or they call their circumstances bad luck because they don't want to face the music.

If you don't get the results you want in something, it's because you didn't put the effort in to get it.

I bet there are tons of people complaining that women look them over, yet they go in public wearing jeans with flip flops and those stupid black shirts with quotes on them like "I have gone to find myself.. be back later". Then hate women and call them superficial.

I can agree with that. Nobody wants a slob. So, that much is obvious. But what's the deal for people who do dress nicely, and put in effort for looks, and still get nowhere? Work on appearance first, and be presentable, and look like someone that people want to be around. But, after that, it's basically a luck game. You can wait for someone to ask you out, or you can do the asking, but whether or not you get a positive response is all luck.

You can fake confidence, or hide insecurity. lol Just don't frown, brood, and mope, and have a nice conversation with people. Don't talk about insecurities. Be positive, and keep that negative stuff to yourself. Nobody likes an Eeyore. That's obvious stuff.

But some things you either have or don't. It's like the vixens you see who can charm people. How to you learn to be sexy? Quick-wit/charisma. Where do you learn that? Seriously. If they is a program to learn how to be quick-witted/charismatic, of vixen like, where do you sign up. I am actually curious on that.

Unless someone can instruct you how to get it. Walk this way, make this face, do this with your eyes, etc.

Absolutely not. I don't believe in "the one." Religious people seem to be the worst about pushing this "the one" business.
