Why are so many threads in this forum shut down so fast? (sex, reason)

I understand some forums get nasty and pointless, but good Lord! I have never seen so many threads get closed so fast as on this forum. And it seems totally arbitrary. A thread that creates an interesting discussion about masculinity is quickly shut down, while some idiotic thread about whether or not to shave pubic hair goes on and on and on...
Anytime I see thread "getting good" (not talking about drama wise) and I refresh the page and it has been shut down, I literally scream "why did they close it?!"
It is pretty frustrating, but you have to respect the rules.
Good question. I don't expect this one will last long either. However, there was a particularly explicit thread about oral sex that bordered on pornographic that ran for days. Go figure.
Because some of the OPs are so idiotic that the entire world wide web would melt down at such manifest stupidity. The world economy would come to a screeching halt. Riots would break out. ICBMs would come streaking in over the pole. No, the only keeping us from complete societal collapse and anarchy is the deft action of our moderators. Otherwise, this forum would just cease to exist as we know it.
I really wish the moderator closing the thread would at least provide the reason for closing it. A lot of times a thread is just closed with no explanation.
I closed this because it was discussing moderator actions on the open forum, which is a violation of the Terms of Service.
If you find any threads that violate the Terms of Service, report them. This board is very active and the mods are not sitting here 24/7, reading every thread. If something gets shut down quickly, it is due to reports we received and/or the thread(s) appearing when one of us happen to be reading the forum.
Sometimes, they are closed because a moderator is too busy at the moment to moderate the thread, but doesn't wish to leave it open to spiral out of control.
If you see a thread about "masculinity" or whatever, it probably got shut because it was full of gender bashing. Ditto any PUA threads. Those skyrocketed after that shooting in CA.
Soo... there you go. Any further questions, just DM one of the mods here. Don't start a thread about it.
