I've tried Tinder with my normal pics and have got about 20 matches from my area, many from really attractive women as well, the key point is that 90% of them have not responded to any of my messages and the rest 10% responded only with "Hi, i'm good" and nothing ever after that... waste of my Fing time! Well, one even gave me her # and we texted a couple of times but then vanished into thin air.
Based on the profile pic you posted, you look similar to Steve Perry. Journey's Steve Perry. I'm not sure if that's good news or bad news to you, but I hope you consider it a compliment. Steve Perry is awesome. Also, not sure if a compliment from a fellow guy matters and I don't blame you if it doesn't. You're not garbage. You are who you are and if others don't like it, that's on them.
PS: If you could sing like Steve Perry you'd have it made. Next time you're in the shower give it a try, my friend. See what your voice sounds like.
I'm a growler, not a dad rock crooner. Projects I've sung on I'd say I'm more like Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquillity), but a bit more gutteral. Look 'em up.
Not that I don't respect Journey... just that it's 2014... I've got Glass Cloud playing in my car.
I dont know if its just for hot people its just not for unattractive people apparently
The point is that the way to boost your self esteem is by not doing self destructive things. Using an app that is known for being really shallow and a meat market for really attractive people isn't exactly a constructive thing to do for your ego.
OP, aren't you in your 30s? I've heard tinder is geared more toward 20-somethings. And with good reason. Most older people would like to know something about the people they're looking to date other than what they look like.

Ehh the only thing that would help my self esteem in the dating world is to attract a women so i figured id try as many avenues as possible
I think it's very practical. I just keep my expectations low. I still think you are better off doing things in person vs. online. Myself personally also yields significantly lower results online vs. in person as well.
Lol, if I had to pick between Tinder or a night out in Vegas, I'd go with Vegas.
Most of the guys on here seem to think that only really hot guys do very well on there. All I know about it is what I've heard on here.
I would venture to say it's only for hot MEN. For women, YMMV.
