I've never tried online dating. Can you filter guys by size? Or say "I don't care how tall you are, how rich you are or what colour your hair is but you must be at least 7x3".
I'm sure they already have websites that allow to search for that.
You know, I've complained about that. Your argument has me thinking that when I complain about it, I should be more clear. It's not so much wanting sex (I want sex too) it's the guys that treat the women on the site as if we were free call girls or something--these men are often rude and lewd. They send very direct sexual messages and indicate they just want to meet up at a hotel--they don't even want to date or get to know anyone (which makes me wonder why they are on a dating site and not a hookup site).
So it's not really want the men want so much as how they go about it. Something tells me that you are probably a lot more tactful than the guys I think of when I think of the "guys only after sex." Plus, you mentioned, you are dating too--not just hooking up.
Anyway, on a more personal note. I wish you the best on your date! Have fun!
That's how I feel. I'm not against having sex in a relationship, I just don't want sex without one. The men on the sites were treating me as a prostitute by asking me for sex right away, sending nude photos or telling me that's what they want. I would not have sex by the third date which seems to be common now.

Yeah, I feel like that's what I'll have to end up doing if I ever want to get in a relationship. Have sex first, find out about the person later.
Online dating isn't actually dating. It's just finding people you'd potentially want to date. It's not a waste of time if you actually know what you're doing.

Common for who? Not for most of the guys that I have dated.

Most of the messages I got were obviously from perverts. Asking for my measurements, nude photos, them sending nude photos and asking me sex questions.
Well, I guess I've just become one of those flaky people because I just flaked on someone. I set up a first meeting with someone on Saturday, then I did a background check which caused some concern, then another guy asked me out for the same day, so I accepted and asked the first guy if we could reschedule. I haven't had a chance to background check the second guy though so who knows what might happen?
