you mean when patton was assigned to the 8th cavalry regiment at fort bliss texas? where he accompanied brigadier general pershing in pursuit of pancho villa in 1916 where he first gained notoriety for taking ten men of the 6th infantry regiment and taking out two mexican leaders, including julio cardenas, the commander of villas personal body guards?

then when the US entered world war one, he was promoted to captain and given partial control of the us tank corps? and ultimately promoted to lt colonel and given full command of the tank corps? ultimately wounded in battle and given the purple heart when he was trying to help get tanks that were stuck in the mud out, and ultimately promoted to full colonel? good enough for you?
