So I've realized even since I was a kid, alot of my friend's ex's like me. This has happen at least 5 times over a 10 year span. I don't flirt with them or anything when they are with my friend. I would never be that guy. I respect my friends to do that. However, after they breakup, the next time I see them at a friends gathering, they are flirting with me.

Of course the first thing I thought is, "they are using me to get back at my friend" but this never happens with super serious relationships. It's happen with kinda casual, just dated for a few months but didn't get serious relationships. The last time this happen, she was flirting with me in front of my friend and he noticed it. He broke up with her and told me she likes you. I don't care if you want to pursue her.

Stupid girls being stupid girls and trying to make your friend jealous.
It either works or backfires and you can tell which way it goes.
It it worked they are still together if it backfired they broke up.

Because people (imo women more so then men) covet what they see frequently. e.g. celebrities, politicians, athletes, coworkers, friends of friends, uniforms, that guy at the gym/starbucks/facebook, etc...

Well, I've pursued two of the girls. One dated a very casual friend and I asked him beforehand if it was ok. The other dated my friend before I knew either one of them. We ended up dating for several years, it was pretty serious for a while.

well at least you followed the man code in this regard.

often times women will want to date friends of their boyfriends. sometimes its because they want to make the ex jealous, other times they have a genuine interest in the friends. just remember to ask your friend if it is ok to date a previous girlfriend, and if you get the ok, go for it.
