I've heard lots of men and women like to date someone who is interesting. However, what makes someone interesting probably varies from person to person.
What makes a man/woman interesting?
Is being interesting very important to you in terms of dating?

Hmm....what make s a guy interesting to me is his ability to make me laugh and have deep conversations with. He's open to new ideas and he doesn't criticize things that are considered different. Honestly I believe that makes anyone interesting. It's not really gender specific.
I find people I can connect with and have an actual conversation with them about anything are interesting. I love to talk and have fun. As far as dating guys, having that is an absolute must for me to consider dating him. I imagine it would be quite boring and awkward if we didn't have anything to talk about. lol
When I realized women weren't interested in me, I stopped pursuing them; and in the ensuing spare time I suddenly had, I decided out of sheer boredom to build a Mayan pyramid with my bare hands. Ladies found this very interesting.
I like to see interests beyond work, televised sports and pop culture; well-developed relationships with diverse types of people; and a life history that shows the guy didn't always take the traditional or easy route.
New and unique angles on commonly accepted ideas are also interesting.
Varied interests and life's experiences, conversant on and interested in a wide range of different topics, interested in others, ability to examine things from different perspectives and not just his own personal preferred one, has made positive choices in his life that have taken him off the beaten or expected path, follows the beat of his own drummer.
Dating/marrying an interesting man wasn't just preferred. It was essential.
Of course! Someone's being interesting is probably the single most important thing!

Passionate about things (in addition to sex and relationships). Work or hobbies that they love, and get all enthusiastic and animated when they talk about them
