When someone says this to you after a first date, doesn't that mean that they did not feel attracted to you, whether that be physically or emotionally?

Overall, I think it's usually a little bit of both.

Yes, that's what it means. They are avoiding saying they don't find you attractive so it is not misconstrued as "you're ugly & unlikable". It's just trying to let you down more sensitively, to make it about the dynamic and not you personally.

Pretty much. But I hate the words "connection" and "chemistry". Don't be fake and try to spare my feelings.

Actually one of the girls that rejected me said she found me very attractive/handsome, liked my hair, etc.

Well, that guy was talking about people saying it after several dates.

I guess it means they don't feel a spark, or they find him boring, or they see some clear incompatibility but don't see any point in being specific about it.

Yes, men often get confused and think 'attractive' refers to looks.

It doesn't have anything to do with whether or not they found you attractive. Sometimes you have chemistry with someone and sometimes you don't.

I've felt no connection with attractive girls before. They're still hot, IMO, but I just didn't feel like we were special.
