Have you ever done something stupid just to prove that you're not scared to do it? (women, older)

After a sexual assault I went back to the scene ( an underground parking structure), got out of my car and walked around a bit... It just seemed like something I had to do for my own piece of mind. Don't know if it was dumb or not, I just felt like I needed to prove to myself that I wasn't afraid. I did get a sick feeling in my stomach and to this day I still get queasy just passing by the place.
I'm sorry that happened... but that took a bit of courage to go back and try and confront your feelings.......
I bungee jumped off a 180' bridge in New Zealand because the cute blonde, blue-eyed German girl goaded me into doing it. Longest five seconds of my entire life.

Bwah. Did the same in a parking lot in Vegas. Why? To see if it would get me over my fear of heights.
No bueno.

I have a feeling this applies to young men more than anyone. Sometimes I think the most dangerous people are bored teenagers.
Yes I agree and it seems more men seem to need to prove themselves.
Sometimes it nice to be an old woman. It doesn't bother me in the least to say chit yeah I'm scared, I'll admit I'm a -----------.
Yes, and Jackass being popular in my late teens didn't help.
