I never measured it; it's a direct copy from a CD case (so about that size). As for your second question...I did it for the same reason why someone would pierce their ears; or dye their hair; or even wear makeup. The aforementioned things can be undone. But I no plenty of people that wouldn't be caught dead without dying their hair or without their make-up. And that's stuff you face the world with.
In my case, my tattoo is for me. It is not so that other people can find me more satiable
I'm just pestering you because you posted your tatoo....
For starters I don't really care what it means, it's not that big or unsightly so it wouldn't bother me....
However I'd ask why you felt like transposing a CD cover permanently onto your skin??? You said it's for you, but it would appear to me more like you want everyone to know that you love this band or something..... (honestly to me it looks like a Spartan helmet.... I'd have mistaken you for a Michigan State fan... )

I don't mind. Actually it holds a lot of different meanings (just a plain old CD cover, I think, would be extreme). I'll list them:
1) The symbol is from Trojan records. There were 2 incarnations of Trojan records. The first was in Jamaica as Duke Reid's (a pioneering music producer) product. He ran a sound system that was key in the development of rocksteady (so hence reggae) music. The second incarnation was as a distributor and compilation label in the UK. Back in the late 1960s and 1970s, Trojan records (and a lot of it's subsidiaries) was a cheap way for British people to get their reggae fix and introduction to the genre...in more frequency than Island records could provide (Trojan was a sister label of Island...but released more "authentic" Jamaican reggae singles.
2) The second meaning is from the Trojan skinhead and S.H.A.R.P. (Skinheads Against Racial Prejudice) movements that adopted the symbol. No, I was never a member of these groups; but I had many good friends that were and I admire the values that they stand for.
3) To a lesser degree, there is a saying in Jamaica where someone will designate their selves as a "Trojan Man" (no, it's not from the condom) which basically means that it's someone that holds their ground and isn't afraid to speak their mind. Most Jamaicans I meet are impressed with the symbol...even if they aren't familiar with the record label (which is more commonly known in England)
There are a lot of traditional skinheads (again, I was never a skinhead) that have this tattoo. One of my friends had it in the middle of her back and then also put "Trojan" underneath. Needless to say, she got a lot of comments about if she had free condoms. LOL...thankfully, I got mine afterwards and learned not to put the name along with it.
So in short, I got the tattoo because I am a big, big supporter of classic rocksteady and early reggae that Trojan records has spent 40 years distributing (at times, at a financial loss). Also the label is synonymous with a certain genre in particular circles.

VAFury funny you should say that. On my laptop, I thought the picture of the tattoo looked like a sports logo on a helmet.

It's many CDs. If you do a Google image search for "Trojan Box Set" you'll see all of their box set collections have that same symbol; but with different colors and background designs. Probably more than 70+ CDs with that design now (they come out with a new boxset every month or two).
you live in an "old world". Back in the days tattoos were for the bad asses. Now they are a expression of someone's personality. I have a tattoo and I got it the day I turned 18. I don't like it because I don't feel as if it fits me. I love the art on people bodies when it complements them.
Why would you want to get a tattoo that doesn't 'fit you'?
Maybe the better question to ask is "Would a tattooed girl date you?"
