When we had the day off we usually kept the kids home but sometimes there were other things planned that would be inappropriate to take the kids with. Vehicle repairs/maintenance, doctor/dental appointments for ourselves and that was just to give us a few hours to nap after the appointment if there were any procedures done.

Sixy, where we are going to look at the property would actually be a good place to do this because it has a good size lake and camp grounds about a mile from the property.
I don't like middle of the week days off either. The building is closed so there is no option to work...however I'm considering Monday because then I can send my kids to school and have the WHOLE house to myself!

My parents are coming into town (they are half-timers down here) and I could do some shopping with my mom for the holidays...

I think I'm talking myself into it

LOL...I might need arm twisting. When it comes down to it, I always back out for some reason.

Well...it's to avoid having to write sub plans but then I feel guilty taking a sick day when I'm not actually sick. However admin did say a "mental health" day every so often is fine. I just still feel guilty.

LMAO

I sent a student home with a fever yesterday. The sad part is, I was hoping I'd catch it!

The kids have 1/2 day tomorrow but we have training and meetings. Our anniversary is on Sat but we are going out tomorrow night. I hope I'm not half dozing off! We are going to my favorite restaurant, but I'm going to need lots of coffee in the afternoon to make it to dinner time awake!

Really not a good time for us because we still don't have a driver and the guy we did have (the father of our young friend) hasn't called or stopped by so we really think he is not coming back but we also understand that his son was buried less than 3 weeks ago and it takes time to be ready to get back to day to day living.
hopefully things start turning around for you guys

artemis, we will be just fine and it will all work out according to the plan which is in accordance with our beliefs.

We do very much appreciate your well wishes though and thank you for being so kind.

This is from 1935 The Boswell Sisters, I love listening to music from this era.
