that's really lovely, looks so warm
I wish I listened in sewing class now...
I never took a sewing class, I decided one day I wanted to learn how to quilt so Mr. CSD took me to the nearest sewing shop and bought me the best sewing machine they had in the shop.
Then he took me to Barnes & Noble and I bought books about Quilting and Sewing.
Then I started watching youtube videos and reading my books and I read the sewing machine manual.
Then I took some fabric, threaded the sewing machine and started using the foot pedal and here we are.
Obviously the baby quilt is not actually quilted yet but that isn't the hardest part or the part that takes the longest. Getting it prepared to quilt is the tough part and I still don't have it quite wrinkle free but I am guessing that baby will not mind one bit.
I rarely do much of anything in the traditional order normal people do, I pretty much wing it and eventually it works out.
Kind of like cooking, I taught myself everything that I do from reading cookbooks, reading books about cooking, trial and error and watching the Food Network videos online.

yeah I hardly follow a recipe ~ when I gave you the sauce recipe I had to think of what I actually do
My grandmother tried to teach me, but I wasn't too interested then either. I love her sewing machine though, like this one:
The one thing I have come to realize with cooking though is that I will probably never make good, light pancakes consistantly and I have almost saved enough "bricks of alleged bread" to build our home (including a walk out basement)....LOL
I have been looking for one of those for a while, the treadle machine is coming back in vogue so to speak however, I want an original.
I do have a 1962 Singer but I cannot find the danged attachments anywhere so I can't use it.
