So would I. At this point, it seems like you might be putting more mental effort into him than he is putting into you. He may genuinely like you, but the circumstances are too tenuous and he sounds like he has too much going on to really focus. I've always been one to say that if a man is into a woman, wild horses couldn't keep him away, but I'm not sure he has even had the time to decide how into you he is.
So, yeah, I think pulling back is a good idea. Hope this helps!
