Mr.Rodger's name has been used 57 times this year in the relationship forum, often in posts involving men like me, men that are simply frustrated. Don't you know that it really hurts the feelings of the person described? Many of us, despite all our keyboard warrior tendencies, wouldn't hurt a person in person. We may have self esteem issues, depression, poor social skills, etc. but we would NEVER resort to that sort of action. We want hugs, we're not thugs.
It's the internet. Doesn't matter if it's a man or woman typing on the keyboard, they will say the meanest, most cruel things to you because they don't have to look at you in the eye to say it.
And he is now the name of choice to toss around on this forum when it comes to bashing another poster when they are either venting to making some kind of attack against women.
But researching how many times that name has came up is rather strange.
I had not noticed this. Don't have an answer. First time I have actually every heard of this guy, had to bing him, it is Elliot with two l's. First impression, looks like the love child of Zach Braff and Lucy Liu.

Why not just stay off of CD-Relationships if it's causing you too much anguish?
Because there is nowhere else to go, nobody else to talk to. The thing about being depressed and lonely is that nobody wants to talk to you while you're depressed and lonely. Add a lack of social skills to that and prospects become even worse. Self pity is a powerful numbing agent, maybe more so than alcohol.
