No sir. We were at the dinner table and it came out louder than I thought and I accidentally woke up the baby that was sleeping in its chair, so I think some were annoyed at this. My girlfriend said that this was the last straw and even though she hasn't heard me pass gas before she knows that I do because she says that it often smells like cow manure when we are together.
I must say that I'm surprised at the responses in the thread. Growing up my family always passed gas in front of each other and would often laugh about it and see who could be the loudest. I think she is just a little too serious for me and it is probably for the best anyways. As a poster above said, why would I want to be with someone who takes themselves so serious and doesn't pass gas?
Dude, if you're doing it that much, you should probably see a doctor.
This^^.
OP, I don't think I know any women at all that would want to spend time with a guy that passes gas all freakin' day long. I don't care if you have mastered the "silent blaster", how could you think that someone would be okay with smelling that all the time?? An occasional "oops" happens. But appropriate behavior is that you know when it's coming, and you excuse yourself and do it away from others. If you cannot control yourself enough to do that, then you need to see a doctor to find out what is causing you to have so much gas. It's definitely not normal.
I have never done that around any woman I've dated, and not even when I was married. I didn't do it mostly out of respect and partly because I would be really embarrassed.

And to me, that sounds incredibly crude. If you think you are going to find a gal that feels the same way as your family, well, I wouldn't hold my breath. I expect your girlfriend got tired of holding hers - I don't blame her at all for tossing in the towel on you.

You also have to understand that just because you were raised that way, not everybody else was. Not everyone can relate to their family acting like that. Regardless to how you were raised, you always have to be respectful and remember most others may not have been raised like that.
